I spent the first five months of 2026 working on a Pac-Man and Ms. Pac-Man emulator! I have been messing around playing on emulators since the days of NESticle and ZSnes. And I've been a hobbyist programmer for just as long. I figured it was time to see if I could write a basic emulator, and found some information online about Pac-Man emulation.
This began as a test to just see if I could understand computer architecture and programming well enough to get some simple opcodes to run and quickly ballooned into a fully-functional Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man, and Pac-Man Plus emulator.
For Steam Deck players especially, this emulator is great for two players. Allowing you and a friend to play opposite each other in vertical screen mode, just like the old cocktail arcade cabinets!
